Dr Georgia Torres
Dr Georgia Torres has completed her PhD in Exercise Physiology, specifically in the area of Metabolic Syndrome and Exercise Programming, at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. In 2000 Georgia also qualified as a Conditioning and Strength Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association of America (NSCA).
Georgia has co-written the Hockey Conditioning and Endurance training manual for The International institute of Fitness (Pretoria University)- In addition, Georgia has also worked as a personal trainer for 20 years and was the conditioning specialist for the South African Women’s Olympic Hockey Team 2004 and for the U21 National hockey team, 2012. Currently, Georgia is the Regional manager and Professional liaisons officer for the Exercise is Medicine, South African branch and working in the Wellness Services Department for Penta Medical Systems. She co-ordinates the scientific and training process of this department.
